Story story,

Once upon a time,

(time time)

So back in 2016, a Nigerian bread seller was on her usual route to sell bread. She unknowingly walked into a photo shoot session of British rapper, Tinie Tempah, by Nigerian photographer, TY Bello. She became an overnight success, and her name was on everyone’s lips. But while many people were curious about her grass-to-grace, at Playhouse we were interested in the trade of bread selling. We wanted to know how much work went into street hawking bread in Lagos and researched it. The best plantain chips in Lagos traffic? We researched it.

We like to say we don’t do digital just for technology’s sake. Our work is anchored on representing brands in a way that connects them with their audiences directly; talking TO them and NOT at them. As an award-winning digital agency, we have worked with many brands in and out of Nigeria. Our goal has always been to do digital representation by working with data-driven insights.

We are a forward-thinking agency that likes to play with numbers and satisfy our curiosity. This zest for gleaning information helps us understand our surroundings better and translates to how well we have been able to help brands create and sustain brand affinity. As a Naija-centric agency we have published the Big Naija Trends Report which has proven to be an insightful analysis of the digital space in Nigeria.

Continuing in this, we are embarking on another adventure centered on the Digital Creative Economy in Nigeria. We are launching a campaign to celebrate everything good about the digital economy in Nigeria. This campaign aims at making Nigerians aware of the tangible benefits of the digital economy in their daily lives. While the use of social media in Nigeria is commonplace, not everyone understands just how important it is to the common man’s life. This campaign is set to change that.

The StoryStoryHub (which is what we tagged the campaign) will help us better understand if Nigerians are aware of the effect of the digital economy in their daily lives and businesses and if yes, to what extent? If the internet were to go down today in Nigeria, would we feel the impact? Therefore, are there steps we can take to make the digital space in Nigeria more accessible, less restricted to everyone’s use while increasing its value add?

The StoryStoryHub will be a digital platform specifically designed to showcase the stories of Nigerians on the internet. Are you a mom selling thrift on IG and WhatsApp? A small business owner with two employees selling homemade skin products online? Are you a food vlogger or an influencer with a growing following? If you are Nigerian, then The StoryStoryHub is for you.  You get to share stories about how the internet has impacted your life in an ever-evolving world.

Every story on The StoryStoryHub will be told by social media users – real people we know and can relate to – who are using the campaign and the hashtag: #KeepTheStoryGoing to make their voices heard. It will be hosted on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and TikTok so that no one is left out of the fun.

To be a part of this campaign, create a short video telling us how the internet has changed your life for good and why it is important we nurture its use in Nigeria. Post it on your preferred platform, using the hashtag #KeepTheStoryGoing and tag @StoryStoryHub.
